We were blessed with the appearance of a motorcycle-riding badger poet from England who claimed he was only staying for ONE night. We enjoyed his tales of warnings from cops and other road adventures, even read a bit of his poetry. I believe he stayed a week and contemplated staying a lifetime….but the road called him back.

In Badger’s own words from his website at www.badgers-bonneville.co.uk : “1953 was an excellent year for climbing Everest, getting crowned and being born. So that was the year I chose. After that a short overview shows I stayed at school until 1969, went to sea, went back to school in 1974-75. I had the shortest marriage ever in 1975, which I eventually was divorced from in 1977. Married again in 79, James arriving in 84, Chrissy in 86, divorced in 92. Single parenthood ever since, that never ends. Lots of influences, lots of jobs, lots of people have come and gone, leaving me richer with their passing and saddened by the loss. I remain proud of a lot, saddened by a lot more and often wonder where I would be now had I lived the dreams of 1973. Now its time to run away to see what I can see - time for me but also to share on this site. So much cheaper than a post card ...”

Badger talking his way out of yet another speeding ticket. He attributes his success in getting out of roadside trouble to his accent and the daunting paperwork involved in ticketing a foreigner driving an imported vehicle. We’re sure it’s his charm.
